Diana Schmitt, RN, BSN, CLNC

I love representing the nursing profession. My role as a CLNC® consultant has given me a voice and an outlet to express knowledge and compassion. It has also given me the ability to give back by way of change.

Through my journey of running a legal nurse consulting business, I have gained a perspective for the nursing profession that I did not have before. When I orient new nurses, speak to a director of nursing about an in-service, or talk to an attorney about issues surrounding a case, I am coming from a perspective of different viewpoints which opens doors and creates more options.

Beverly Denver states so calmly and controlled that passion is the drive that moves an individual towards hard work. I have never worked so hard in my life! But I have never been rewarded so fully. The work that I produce in my home office has my whole heart and soul in it because it matters to consumers of health care and the nursing profession that the spotlight shine on the strengths of health care delivery; it also matters that the same spotlight shine on the weaknesses of the heath care delivery system.

I know of no other arena where a staff nurse, like me, can be more powerful. I make my own decisions and educate health care professionals, legal professionals, and consumers of health care. I do make a difference for the better. I appreciate everyone who has struggled in this endeavor with me. Thanks Vickie.
