Six weeks later her first grandchild was born. That was 20 years ago. It's a comfort to know that if/when I am diagnosed that treatments have improved and increased survival rates. I did a 3-day, 60-mile walk from San Jose to San Francisco seven years ago to celebrate turning 40. (No history of breast cancer, I just hate running marathons!) It was a life-changing experience and a heck of a party! We raised $7 million for research with that one event. I love your spirit and go-for-it attitude! Fantastic Vickie! I don't know if it is because you are a woman or because you are a nurse or if it is your honesty in revealing that you also have fear at times, or it could be just the way you deliver the message, but you do speak to me.
