Yes, it really is the little things in life that can make our day. All Certified Legal Nurse Consultants know I start every day with a cup of healthy green tea. That’s my “me” time and it’s a tradition I’ve faithfully followed no matter where in the world I find myself. Whether I’m revving up for a busy work day, gorilla-trekking in Rwanda or just spending time with my niece Reese, I start my day with quiet tea time.
Until recently my tea mugs consisted of souvenirs from past vacations – each sip of tea bringing back special memories. But this year those mugs started to look and feel, shall we say, shabby. The colors were fading and years of running them through the dishwasher had taken off most of their luster. It was definitely time for new mugs.
I looked in all the boutique coffee shops I could find – the mugs were too big. Next I tried the tea shops – the mugs were too small. I was starting to feel like
Goldilocks – none of the mugs were “just right.” So I resigned myself to my same old tired mugs.
Then, one day on a trip to New York City Tom and I went into Barney’s to wait out a torrential rainstorm and to my pleasant surprise, I found the perfect serene white mug. It was exorbitantly expensive, but I was instantly in love. I only needed two mugs, so I went ahead and splurged and I’m glad I did. Drinking out of this exquisite mug is truly a sensory experience.
What about you? In your life or legal nurse consulting business is there some little thing that makes your day? Whatever it is, go ahead – splurge and let it brighten your day. You deserve it, and when it’s time to crank up your legal nurse consulting day, you’ll be beaming with happiness. Okay, maybe it’s just a cup of tea, but why not make it so much more?

P.S. Comment and share a little thing that makes a big difference in your day.
I start out with a 3-mile walk, quick swim, then a cup of my favorite coffee while I do my daily devotion.
Coffee for me please….every morning with my homemade almond creamer. I enjoy each smooth, delicious sip and quiet time prepping for my day.
Perhaps what makes my day is reconnecting with old friends from the past. My roommate from the 1970’s turned out to be an attorney in private practice. He and I had lost touch in the 1980’s. It was good to hear from him again. He lives in HI.
