Are You Ready for Success as a Certified Legal Nurse Consultant?

Right after my Opening speech at the 2015 National Alliance of Certified Legal Nurse Consultants Conference, one of the CLNC® consultants came up to me and excitedly said, “Vickie I’m ready! I am ready to be successful as a Certified Legal Nurse Consultant!” My question back to her was, “Are you ready to do what it’s going to take to be successful?”

Most RNs are stressed and more than ready for the benefits of legal nurse consulting success – the benefits of more money and flexibility and control over one’s life. But the RN must also be ready for the hard work, the aggravation and even the change in a relationship or two that success requires. Few Certified Legal Nurse Consultants experience the perks of success without any of the hassles.

Each of us measures success differently and experiences it differently. Knowing how you’ll measure success and knowing what you’re willing to do to achieve success is essential for mastering it. No matter where you are in your legal nurse consulting career or your RN job at the hospital, ask yourself “Am I ready for success and am I willing to do what it takes to achieve it?”

I’m Just Askin’

P.S. Comment and share what you’re willing to do to be successful as a Certified Legal Nurse Consultant.

  1. You are so right, Vickie, about so many points you have made here:
–I have to make a change of a subcontractor relationship (aggravation) to move on with a case.
–Hard work – I met my goal last year of accomplishing everything you and your mentors advised me to do to get to success.
–Success measurement – My success is small and miniscule compared to other successful CLNC® consultants. When I was at the point of having done three cases I had a mentoring question when a CLNC® Mentor called me. She asked, “How many cases? I told her three and she replied, “That is a measurement of success!” This mentor is extremely successful and she made me feel very good. So, 8 cases later and three ongoing are my small success.
But I am getting somewhere now and reaping rewards of the hard work. My husband told me today, “Keep at it, it may take off and then you’ll really be busy!” He knows how well the exhibiting had done for the CLNC® business last year.

  2. I am currently completing the complimentary first 4 hrs of the CLNC® Certification Program. I just completed the Real Nurses Unreal Success book that was sent to me. On the very last page I read that Vickie is a University of St. Thomas graduate. I am too and this makes this journey even more exciting for me.

  3. I just started the online CLNC® Certifcation course this week. I am motivated and excited to have a successful legal nursing business. I hope to give it my all!

  4. Hi Chidi! Don’t just hope to give it your all… DO give it your all. You won’t regret it.
