Vickie Milazzo's Thoughts for Success

Thoughts for Success: Promises to Make to Yourself

I call Promise #3 the “buck-up” promise. Nurses constantly tell me “Vickie, I don’t have time to develop my legal nurse consulting business. My response is always the same, “Buck-up, cut the excuses and make the time.”

Bucking-up to Promise #3 takes commitment, endurance and sweat. We all get the same 24 hours each day. How you spend yours will determine how successful you will be in your CLNC® business. If you want CLNC success bad enough, you’ll buck-up and make the time for your legal nurse consulting business instead of “The Big Bang Theory.”

I’m Just Sayin’

P.S. Comment and share your plan to take one action step a day.

  1. I am familiar with the phrase “buck-up” – they say that a lot in Wyoming. Around here and in the CLNC® business it is either buck-up or buck-off. What you say is true Vickie that it takes hard work and time to be successful. There is nobody in my office to hold my hand and tell me what to do; isn’t that the mindset of nursing? I still have a lot of ground to cover, so buck-up I will.

  2. I took Vickie’s promise #3 (I will take one action step a day toward my passionate vision) as my motto. Whether it was something as little as printing out forms to use during an interview, mailing out information and business cards or just reviewing the Core Curriculum for Legal Nurse Consulting® textbook, I have done something every day and it paid off. My 1st interview with a local attorney was very impromptu. He had received and reviewed the literature I had sent him, and as I was finishing my 5-mile run with my dog, he cornered me at the tennis courts where our children were taking lessons and asked if we could talk about a case he was having difficulty on!! Not exactly my idea of a “professional” interview, but none the less productive. The something I did every day paid off. Within that same week, and without any official personal interviews, I had 3 attorneys call me and 4 cases on the way!! The little things do count!! I am just getting started in my business and am very excited. Thank you Vickie…
