Want Some Cheese to Go with Your Whine?

I detest whining and complaining, but I too am very capable of it and accomplished at it. Women often like to talk out our problems. But there’s a fine line between talking something out and simply whining and complaining about it. I’ve been known to ask an employee or two or four, “Hey, would you like me to get you some cheese to go with that whine?”

Today, however, I found myself dwelling on a vendor who severely disappointed me. Just like I know from experience that worry is a useless emotion, I’ve learned that complaining is a useless expenditure of energy. I needed to follow my own good advice and just stop the mental whining and complaining cold and move on with my day.

How about you? Did you whine and complain at least once already today? And if so, did it give you the results you desired? Or is your energy already depleted?

I don’t always follow my own good advice, but really this advice is some of my best, so I’ll say it again – “Either get the cheese or move on with your day.”

I’m just sayin’

P.S. Comment and share how you break the whining and complaining cycle.

  1. Today, I was tired of hearing MYSELF complain and whine. The mistake I was making was answering the question, “How are you doing?” with being too honest and sharing too much. I needed to rethink the question and start answering with, “I am doing GREAT!” I am still very blessed and very happy about the many things that have gone well for me. When I answer with that response, I soon forget about whatever the “little thing” was that I was whining about. It must not have been as big a deal as I first made it out to be. Positive thinking can only bring positive results.
